At Curbcycle, we believe recycling should be simple, impactful, and tailored to real-world needs. Driven by a passion for sustainability – and a frustration with unreliable waste services – we launched in April 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal was clear: to bridge the gap between convenience and environmental responsibility.
We opened our doors with a sorting facility, recycling drop-off point, and collection services for both residential and business clients – creating a trusted, local solution when it was needed most.
Today, we proudly partner with businesses, residential complexes, and communities to provide reliable, transparent, and affordable waste management. Whether it’s paper, plastic, food waste, or e-waste, we ensure it’s processed responsibly – helping our clients reduce landfill contribution and meet their sustainability goals.
There was a clear need for a dedicated space where people could drop off mixed recyclables – too often, recyclables were ending up in general trash and ultimately in landfills. To address this, we fast-tracked the opening of our facility to offer an accessible, local solution.
Today, we continue to support residents and independent recycling collectors by providing a reliable drop-off point. This not only gives smaller operators the infrastructure they need but also offers peace of mind to their clients – knowing that recyclables are properly sorted by material type and code, and then passed on to larger recycling companies and manufacturers in the Cape Town area for further processing.
Mission and vision
At Curbcycle, our mission is to provide accessible, transparent, and community-driven recycling solutions that reduce landfill waste and support a circular economy. We envision a future where every household, business, and small-scale collector across Cape Town has the tools, infrastructure, and support to recycle properly and sustainably — creating a cleaner, more responsible city for generations to come.
